BOARD MEMBERS

CHAIR

Edward L. Wilson, Ed.D.  is a retired U. S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col).  He has directed the Center’s logistics team of 100+ Space Acquisition and Support personnel at 3 diverse operating locations. During his 20-plus year membership with Blacks In Government (BIG), Dr. Wilson has  held numerous positions at the Chapter level - President, Vice-President, and Secretary; Regional level – 3rd Vice-President. Military Veterans Emphasis Program, and Health & Wellness Coordinator, Director; and, National level– Chair and Vice-Chair Board of Directors. Dr. Wilson received a BS in Chemistry from Howard University; an MS in Counseling from Oklahoma State University; an MS in Psychology from North Central University, and a Doctorate in Education from Liberty University.


 

VICE CHAIR

Candice Williams, M.D.,  is a Pain Management Anesthesiologist, Music Producer and Business Coach. She creates music for healing /relaxation and is a curator of uplifting messages, embodied by her music releases Black Beauty by J.N.C., Tranquility and Serenity. As a Business Coach she and her husband also help family businesses avoid mistakes while creating digital businesses through their Business Momentum System.  Candice received her undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and attended medical school at University of California, Los Angeles.

 

TREASURER

Lance Johnson is an accomplished tennis coach who has competed in France,

and competed in both ITF Futures and ATP Challenger tours within men’s

professional tennis.   He was also brought into the Williams’ family training team, to help Serena and Venus achieve the ranking of #1 and #2 in the world, respectively.  Lance is one of the few coaches who have experience working on both men’s and women’s professional tours. Lance received his undergraduate degree from U.C. Berkeley.
 

SECRETARY

Maisha Cole, Esq.  has been a leader and educator in the field for years and is

passionate about combining her love of education and legal expertise at the

Child Care Law Center as its Executive Director.  She greatly enjoys working with community members, and regularly presents workshops about Estate Planning, Governmental

Benefits, and Disability Rights. Within and outside of the Law Center, she mentors law students and recent law school graduates. Maisha received her JD degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law and her bachelor’s degree from University of California, Berkeley. She has also participated in the Legal Education Opportunity Program (LEOP) and the Public Interest Program.
